Italian for Kids Centro Raccontami offers an exciting variety of classes for kids, ages 1-13. Each class is artistically designed to meet the child’s learning process and understanding of the Italian language and culture. Children learn Italian through musical activities, games, crafts, cooking, children’s literature, readings and role-playing. Centro Raccontami’s teaching approach enhances the child’s learning development through the encouragement of curiosity and creativity. Weekly ClassesThe classes for children start with games and musical activities for the youngest, including: singing, dancing, playing simple percussive instruments, visual material, craft activities and stories for the toddlers. Children and teenagers practice their speaking skills while learning how to look at paintings, discovering the excitement of science & geography, and role-playing by making up characters and stories. Bilingual ClassesBilingual classes help to expand the students’ vocabulary and conversational skills. Workshops designed to teach geography, history, fashion, arts and music, are taught through reading and writing in Italian. Bilingual students also enjoy the special opportunity of field trips to the MoMA and art events. Italian Art LabIn the Italian Art Lab, students meet with a real life Italian artist. This unique experience provides the student with a personal connection outside of the academic world. New art techniques are stressed, expressing each students’ creativity as an individual in a group setting. This is an important stage in the students’ development of independence and sharing. Spring & Summer CampDuring the spring break and the summer, students have the opportunity to enrich their Italian through activities, field trips to museums, parks and other places of particular Italian interest. |

Italian For Adults Daytime & Evening Classes Classes meet for nine weeks for one two-hour session per week. Attendances are small to ensure individual attention and encourage student participation. Lessons are interactive and highlighted by grammar instruction, giving the students the opportunity to learn and improve their conversational skills. Each class is designed individually to meet all different levels. Full Immersion SundayFull Immersion Sunday is a dynamic, fast-paced six-hour language workshop for beginners, intermediates and advanced. This is perfect for travelers or anyone too busy to take a class every week. Levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Business ClassesThe business classes are specifically designed for professionals who wish to begin or improve their Italian language skills. Classes are customized to meet the professionals’ language needs and accommodate his or her busy schedule. Company individual or company group lessons are available. Centro Raccontami offers puppet shows based on American and Italian traditions such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, la Befana, Carnevale and more. The Classes for Adults Beginner I The student has little or no previous experience in the Italian language. Beginner II-III The student is able to understand and respond to very basic conversational situations. Intermediate I The student has considerable high school or college background experience in Italian. The student can speak using the present, past and future tenses. Intermediate II-III The student is able to express and understand ideas in detail on a variety of topics. He or she may not understand rapid, colloquial speech. Advanced The student is able to understand and use all forms and styles of speech, but needs some practice and improvement in the language. Schedules
